The Brothers Raskin Celebrate 100

Breakin’! Bears! Bozos!

Alea iacta est. The Brothers Raskin crossed the Rubicon and there was no way they could do a monumental show remotely. That’s why Brother Ben braved 100+ degree temps, one-armed bandits, and drink coupons to travel to the hometown of The Brothers Raskin, Las Vegas. Brother Pat graciously hosted Ben at the Casa de Boones, just east of Mount Charleston, for a tour de force of jocularity, fraternity, and mirth.

Recorded 10 August 2024, the Brothers recap the Olympic games, identify sports versus spectacles, and chat about what makes a good jumper. Patrick revisits the Las Vegas Flamingos (yes, that might be a thing) and Ben tells you why Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a madman.

Ask the Brothers anything. Visit Ben’s website and drop some knowledge of the guys.

Movie Magic The Brothers Raskin

It’s been super challenging putting together 100 episodes and not missing a single week. This includes Ben spending almost two weeks in Italy, various COVID infections, and more technical issues you can throw a stick at. For our first five attempts at recording an episode, we could barely get an internet connection in Las Vegas for Patrick. We were initially using Zoom and it completely crapped out. There were practice runs that were really funny but I forgot to hit record or the internet decided to end the call.

It’s been a work in progress. Speaking for Patrick, it’s been the best project I’ve worked on for a long time. For years, Pat and I would have these great phone calls when I was walking the dogs. We’d both be laughing our tails off and we’d wonder why we weren’t recording it. He’s the funniest guy I know and nobody makes me laugh as hard.

So, for all the heartache, thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours, and countless dropped internet recordings, here is episode 100. It would mean the world to me if you could drop us a comment, question, or something so I can read it to Patrick. Because, as much as I love this podcast, he loves it more.

Thanks for listening. Here’s to the next 100.
